Set on the owners' working farm and approached by a country track, it lies just a few miles from Instow's sandy beach, the charming quayside village of Appledore on the banks of the River Torridge, and Westward Ho!'s famous sands. The ancient market towns of Barnstaple, Great Torrington and Bideford, with its Atlantic Village shopping complex and regular boat excursions to Lundy Island, are all within a short drive as are some of the country's finest beaches – Saunton Sands, Croyde Bay, Putsborough and Woolacombe Bay – all beloved by traditional bucket and spaders as well as surfers of all abilities. A little further to the north, ponies roam the glorious countryside of Exmoor National Park, itself a lovely backdrop to the attractive resorts of Lynton and Lynmouth. To the south visitors will find the pretty village of Clovelly, whose only transport is by donkey and sledge, the resort of Bude, whose white sands and sea are another surfers' paradise, and marvellous scenic walking to Hartland Point. Arlington Court and Dunster Castle (both N.T.) are also a delight to explore. Horse riding, golf and sailing are available locally, there is a pub serving food 2 miles away and shops/P.O. in Torrington (4 miles).

North Devon
From the vast unspoilt expanses of Exmoor to its endless sandy beaches and charming
seaside towns and villages, North Devon makes for the perfect cottage holiday getaway.

Justly famous as one of England’s finest destinations, South Devon has everything
